In questo tipo di applicazioni il granito sardo è impiegato in tutto il mondo, con all'attivo molteplici e prestigiose opere rivestite o pavimentate. Le caratteristiche tecniche di una roccia sono frutto della sua storia geologica e non tutti i graniti possiedono le caratteristiche eccellenti di quello della Sardegna, tra i più pregiati e, geologicamente, tra i più antichi litotipi della Terra.
